Does parenting influence child behavior via changes in the child’s DNA methylation?
The University of Manchester Metropolitan conducted a study to examine if parenting influences a child’s behavior via changes in the child’s DNA methylation.
This study demonstrated the ability to collect and analyze DNA samples easily from young children and families using the iSWAB-DNA-250 device. The team shared “We used this method to collect child DNA samples because it allows the storage of DNA samples at room temperature.”
The iSWAB-DNA-250 device is designed for the collection of human DNA samples via spit or buccal cells. The University chose the iSWAB as the sample collection method due to its ability to store DNA samples at room temperature.
